Falmouth Community Youth Football Club
Community Welcome Pack
Club Ethos
Every player has the opportunity to play football in a safe environment with the correct level of challenge for them to develop to the best of their ability. Football for all.
Community Training
Community football is all about learning to play football in a fun environment.
The sessions run on a Saturday morning between 9:30 – 10:30am at Falmouth School.
There is no charge for these sessions. The committee works hard to keep community training free for all our members.
We ask that all children bring a drink and wear football boots and shin pads. We provide footballs.
We prefer parents to stay for the session unless alternative arrangements are made with the coach or a club official beforehand.
Boot Swap
We sell a selection of second hand kit and boots in our clubhouse.
Birds Nest Café
We sell refreshments during community at the Birds Nest Café in our clubhouse.
All our coaches are volunteers and freely give up their time. We support our coaches with FA training. Our continued growth and success is dependent on volunteer parents/guardians/carers to help support the children in any capacity.
Community helper roles include:
- Coach
- Assistant Coach
- Pitchside Support
- Helping in the Birds Nest Cafe
- Helping in our boot swap
- Events
- Fundraing
- Committee Member
- Admin
If you are interested in becoming a community helper please speak to a member of the committee.
Progression to Teams
We do our best to create teams for children in line with our ethos, but attendance of Community does not guarantee a place in a team. New team creation is restricted by space and available qualified coaches. There are opportunities for parents to train as coaches if they are keen to set up a league team.
Applications Process
FCYFC has many enquiries and we have an applications process for new members. Completed application forms are shared with relevant coaches. New members are invited to join the club when a space becomes available in their relevant age group. This is dependent on numerous factors including space, number of coaches, ratios of children to coach as recommended by FA, siblings and levels of help people can offer.
Respect
Our Respect Code of Conduct is central to our club and all members must read and follow the respect guidelines on and off the pitch. This includes parents! Be aware that the yellow and red card system will be used if required. Cards can be given for poor behaviour on and off the pitch at any FCYFC event. Cards can also be given to parents. Being given a card could result in your child missing out on playing football.
Welfare Officers
FCYFC has 2 Welfare Officers for children, parents and coaches to contact if they have concerns about behaviour or safeguarding. Any committee member is also on hand if anybody needs support or advice.
SPOND
All club communication is through SPOND. This is an app that you can download and new members will be added to SPOND. We ask that people stay active on SPOND accepting or declining invitations promptly so groups can be organized.
